The card you never want to make

We have all been there – we need a sympathy card and we don’t have any on hand. For me, it’s the card I never want to make. It is always so hard to create something comforting during a stressful time and so I always try to keep a couple of them in my stash. Today at SSInk, we are sharing our creations.

SSInk Sympathy

This is a pretty bright and colorful card for a sad occasion but I feel that a ray of hope in the darkness can be nice for the recipient. The Bliss and Blooms Designer Series Paper is perfect for this because it uses rich colors such as Rich Razzleberry, a soft color such a Blushing Bride and the creamy neutral of Crumb Cake. The mega mosaic technique made quick a unique background for this card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great week so far. I would love to hear your thoughts on my card and be sure to subscribe to my posts while you are here!

Fancy Fold Friday – 4 way card

Happy Friday Friends! I am excited to share a fun card with you. Today at SSInkspiration we are showing off some fun fold cards. I love fun folds and this card was something totally outside of my comfort zone.

FancyFold Friday Card

I found this technique at Splitcoast Stampers last month and I knew I had to try it. I have to admit that it took more than 1 try to get my card to line up well and as much as I wanted to offer this next month for technique class I think there is way too much of a learning curve for a class setting. I love the spinning center piece on this card and I think I would make this again, using different shapes each time to keep things interesting. It’s a great technique to make a card for a special occasion. I hope that you will try it sometime!

Thank you for stopping by today. Please leave me some blog love in the form of a comment and be sure to subscribe so that you never miss another post. I am posting between 3-5 times a week now – tons of good inspiration!

CASE the designer…..Stampin’ Royalty Style

This week over at Stampin’ Royalty the challenge is to CASE the designer! Choose a card that one of them has made and CASE the color combination that they used.

For me, it was pretty easy to choose what to CASE. My dear friend Carrie Rhoades is a designer and she used some of my favorite colors! Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.

SR334 Card

I knew the centerpiece of my design was going to be the brand new Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper. It has almost all of these colors and my pack arrived just a few days ago. I couldn’t wait to cut into it!

I created a simple color fold card, which we will be learning this weekend at Technique Class. I still have a few spaces available if you would like to join us!

I has to sub the Mint Macaron for the Old Olive because I couldn’t quite make the two work together. I really love the all over feel of these colors together. Great choice Carrie!

ICS iambringingbirthdayback

Hello hoppers! I am so glad to have you here! Thanks for hopping along with us at
Inspire, Create, Share.

This month we are celebrating birthdays! A few month’s ago, a Stampin’ Up! employee from the home office named Shannon West decided that she wanted to start sending hand stamped cards in the mail so she did a Facebook shout out for anyone and everyone who wanted to receive a card. As you can imagine, the response was overwhelming and a movement began. The #hashtag
#iambringingbirthdaysback went viral and many demonstrators around the globe have joined in!
I love sending cards in the mail so of course I jumped in as well!
This card was featured at a recent technique class that I host monthly. The technique is called the Spotlight Technique and I am sure you can see why. It is actually quite easy and can work with almost any line image. The possibilities are endless!
Now it’s is time to hop on over to my friend Darla’s blog and see what she has created for us! I am sure you are going to love it!

Mystery Challenge at SSInk

Hey gang! It’s the weekend! Hope you have something fun planned for you or your family. We have a full schedule the next few days, celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and helping th teenager in the house get to her various activities. She’s a great kid and has a very full schedule!
I was able to get some crafting time in and played along with the monthly Mystery Challenge over at SSInk. With so many elements to choose from  it was a little hard to decide which direction I should go.
Here is what I came up with!
I used the wet wash watercolor technique on this card for the layer with the sentiment. It is so quick and easy, can be used for any color combo and gives such a soft look in this case.
Underneath that layer I used three different embossing folders for the three different colors of paper. There are lots of textures going on here and I love they way they all worked together.
The glimmer paper heart adds a little amount of bling and the sequins are from January’s Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the look they bring!
I encourage you to try out any of the challenges I post here on my blog. They really help me get my into my stamp stash and use all of the wonderful products we sell at Stampin’ Up!
If you need any help ordering or just need a current catalog please let me know! I am here for you!

TGIF Sketch Challenge

Hi crafters! I am excited to be participating in the sketch challenge over at TGIF Challenge! This week, we were given his layout

Each class features 2 techniques; One using ink and one using paper. Cost is only $15 and includes 4 cards, envelopes and a 6X6 take home instruction sheet so you can practice what you learn.

ICS Blog Hop – Let’s Sale-A-Brate

Hello Hoppers! Happy New Year! Welcome to the first ICS Blog hop of 2016. I am so glad that you are here. Today we are showing off our favorite products from the just released Occasions catalog or the wonderful products you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration!

My card for you today is using a set from the Occasions catalog. When I first saw it I knew immediatly I had to have it -The Rose Wonder bundle.

This image reminds me of the very popular Manhattan Flower we had a few years back. It is large and perfect to be the focal point of any project. For my card I embossed the flower using Versamark ink and gold embossing powder on our Shimmer White paper. I then water colored the image using reinkers and an aquapainter. It gives the flower a soft look and the shimmer of the gold along with the paper is a stunning elegance in real life. I wish that the photo could show you the true beauty here.

Now it’s time to hop over to Andrea’s Blog and see what she has in store for you.

Inspired by…..

Hello friends! Today I am playing along with the SSInk27 Challenge. I love design challenges and have decided this is a great way to stretch myself.
Fall is in full swing and soon it will be time to put these beautiful colors and textures away and focus on Christmas. I am happy to have a few more days to craft for fall. I wanted to make a coordinating card and gift item because I love giving away what I craft! I love this pillow box die and will miss it terribly when it retires next month!

I did a little bit of rock and roll technique on the leaves. I wasn’t totally thrilled with them but the do look like they are turning from one color to another.
Thank you for stopping by today! You and subscribe to my blog to the right ——-} and never miss another post. I would love to know what you think of my card so please leave me some blog love in the form of a comment!

ICS Blog Hop – Giving Thanks

It’s the first Wednesday in November and that means another ICS Blog Hop. This month we are giving thanks – and I have so much to be thankful for! I love thinking about gratitude, and how it makes me appreciate what I have in my life.
My card this month was featured at my technique class in October and I thought it was so fitting for this fall theme. I absolutly love the color blocking look and the frame looking out onto the fall scene is adorable!
I used the white shimmer paper for the scene and I wish that you could see it better. It almost looks like frost! This card may look difficult but it was so quick and easy once the block frame was created. I think this technique can be used for any card – I hope you will try it sometime.
Now, it’s time to hop on over to Darla and her sisters blog to see what wonderful projects they have for us this month.
Please let me know you were here by leaving me a comment and remember that you can subscribe to the blog and never miss another post.
